Terms & conditions.

These terms apply to your use of the Protect Ya Edge website and to purchases of ready-made and custom leather axe sheaths from Jonathan Hewer trading as Protect Ya Edge, a sole trader based in England.

Submitting an enquiry does not commit you to a purchase. I will confirm the specification, price, delivery arrangements and any other relevant details in writing.

An order is accepted, and a contract is formed, only when you accept the confirmed quote or invoice and payment has been received through PayPal. I may decline an enquiry where I cannot safely or accurately make the requested sheath.

Custom sheaths are made to your chosen specification and personalised to fit the axe described in your enquiry. You are responsible for providing accurate photographs, measurements and other information requested.

Because custom sheaths are personalised goods, you generally cannot cancel or return them simply because you change your mind once production has started. This does not affect your statutory rights where the item is faulty, not as described, or does not conform to the contract.

For a ready-made sheath purchased at a distance, you may cancel within 14 days of receiving it without giving a reason. Tell me through the contact form within that period, then return the item within a further 14 days.

The item must be returned in its original condition, allowing only the handling reasonably necessary to inspect it as you would in a shop. You pay return postage for an unwanted return. I will refund the item price and the cost of standard outbound delivery within 14 days of receiving the returned item, subject to any lawful deduction for diminished value.

Leather is a natural material. Small blemishes, scars, grain variation and changes in colour or texture may be present and are part of its character. I take reasonable care when selecting and making each sheath and will make a best effort to avoid significant blemishes.

If a sheath has a fault in its materials or workmanship, or its fit is incorrect because of an error I made, contact me through the form. Following inspection, I will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include repair, replacement or refund. I will cover reasonable return postage for a fault or an error on my part.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Payment is made through PayPal. Ready-made sheaths are usually delivered within five working days. Custom lead times will be agreed in the confirmed quote and may depend on template approval and the information you provide.

I currently ship within the UK. Orders to countries outside the UK may be considered individually. International orders may involve customs declarations, import duties, taxes and product-compliance requirements in the destination country; these are your responsibility unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Site content is provided for general information. I aim to keep descriptions, images and prices accurate, but colours may vary between screens and I may correct errors or update content. You must not misuse the website, upload malicious code, or infringe another person’s rights.

I may update these terms by publishing a new version on this page. The version in force when your order is accepted applies to that order. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights.
